Chicken Girl is a show about chickens. It’s also about childhood obsessions, memory, guilt, human overconsumption, and individual vs. collective climate responsibility.

 

As a teenager, Miranda was obsessed with her two chickens, Amber and Mercedes. As an adult, she's still thinking about chickens - all 29 billion of them. Chickens now represent 70% of all bird biomass on earth. This vast weight of chickens is representative of the impact of human overconsumption & how it’s transformed the biosphere.

 

Part story, part performance lecture, part slideshow, Chicken Girl is a surreal comedy for the eco-conscious, the eco-confused and anyone who’s ever loved - or eaten - a chicken.
